The Chinese city, especially the new cities, is so rough and tedious. At the same everybody is copying everything from each other. As we mentioned in the lecture, due to the building code, 25 percent of the land should be reserved for greenery and that is a pretty high percentage of public space. When you go to Beijing or anywhere else in China, you see that that kind of 25 percent rule doesn't work. That is why we are so engaged in doing the urban landscaping, it is not to beautify the city but really to convert that kind of beauty into something meaningful, into something useful for the people. Especially within high population cities, people don't have place to stay inside and outside and we believe we should encourage outside activities, as you need a certain kind of visual environment to either protest or to energize those activities, so therefore urban landscaping is so important.
