TIME TO SHOP
PEOPLES ARCHITECTURE DEBUT EXHIBITION

TIME TO SHOP is an installation in the upcoming 4 month-4 city Get It Louder festival. It is a critical installation analyzing statistics of China's current consumption. The installation will capture one second of the Chinese consumer's time to think about how much is already consumed on a daily basis and too ponder their consumption ambitions. Shopping is mutating from an everyday exercise in sustenance to a cancerous western notion of possession. More info >>

52ND VENICE BIENNALE
THINK WITH THE SENSES - FEEL WITH THE MIND. ART IN THE PRESENT TENSE.
VENICE, ITALY

The 52nd International Art Exhibition this year features both the Chinese Pavilion and the Hong Kong Pavilion. Curated by Hou Hanru, the Chinese Pavilion is entitled EVERYDAY MIRACLES and features the works of artists Shen Yuan, Yin Xiuzhen, Kan Xuan, and Cao Fei. Entitled STAR FAIRY, the Hong Kong Pavilion is curated by Norman Ford and features the work of artists Amy Cheung, Map Office, and Hiram To. More info >>

AI WEIWEI | FAIRYTALE

The highlights of this year's documenta include works of art and actions like those of the Chinese concept artist Ai Weiwei, who is bringing to Kassel 1001 of his compatriots to take part in an art happening entitled Fairytale. Drawn from all social classes and professions, these Chinese citizens will experience the confrontation with a totally alien (art) culture. More info >>

DOCUMENTA 12 MAGAZINES

A magazine of magazines. More than 70 periodicals, magazines and online media from all over the world will enter into a dialogue. They will discuss and reflect the topics and theses of the exhibition. They will react to them and question them on the basis of their particular knowledge. URBAN CHINA MAGAZINE will be participating in DOCUMENTA 12 MAGAZINES.

EuroBiz Magazine has a feature on Chongming Island as a sustainable model. Situated at the mouth of the Yangtze River, Chongming is three-quarters the size of Manhattan, and is the world's largest alluvial island.
