» 3X3 A PERSPECTIVE ON CHINA   |  CHINA VISUAL CULTURE

3x3 Lecture Part VII, November 07, 2006

China’s urban and architectural transformation not only alters the urban fabric; but is also forcing a dramatic change in its culture, media, communication and advertisement industry. This convergence raises questions about one’s identity but is also the motor for creativity. The China Visual Culture lecture examines the new ways and forms of representing those changes; whether they are emerging new architectural magazines, billboards, photography, the Internet and Blog culture or the way they infuse global culture with Chinese characteristics. A unique insight in this multi-layered meaning of Urban China will enable us to understand the effect of urban renewal on Chinese culture and society.
