3x3 Lecture Part V, SEPTEMBER 27, 2006 A sneak preview of the exhibition Shanghai Kaleidoscope at the ROYAL ONTARIO MUSEUM in TORONTO. The exhibition will be in new galleries of the ROM's Institute for Contemporary Culture (ICC)- the top of the Michael Lee-Chin Crystal, an addition designed by Daniel Libeskind that will open in mid-2007. The exhibition examining Shanghai's current transformation into a hypermodern international city, the exhibition will explore four facets of Shanghai's remarkable cultural mix: urbanism, architecture, contemporary art and fashion. An imaginative mix of architectural drawings, models, video simulations, photographs, costumes and artworks will highlight Shanghai's urban metamorphosis. Lectures, symposia, school tours and a cinema program will be developed by the ICC to enhance the exhibition. | |||
